Books are one of my favorite gifts and indulgences, so this month I'm launching a monthly book giveaway to share some of my favorites. Each month, I'll feature a recommended read and invite discussion around the topic of the chosen book. Of those who join the discussion, two winners will be selected at random to receive a free copy!
Featured book for October 2023

This month's selection is Two Weeks Notice: Find the Courage to Quit Your Job, Make More Money, Work Where You Want, and Change the World by Amy Porterfield. If you're craving an exit from your job and an onramp to entrepreneurship, this book was written for you. I made this transition way back in 2012 and wish that I'd had this book back then to buoy my confidence and help me fast-track what can be a very lonely process.
Amy is one of the few people I've followed for nearly a decade since meeting her back in 2013. Watching her launch this book was a masterclass in online marketing and I was thrilled for a peek behind the scenes as a member of her book's #launchsquad. After reading my copy, I happily ordered a bunch more to share with friends who could benefit from the blueprint she's created.
Will her approach work for everyone? Nope. But if you're a woman dreaming about starting your own business, you will find something in its pages to help you start making strides in the direction of those dreams.
How to enter the giveaway
Entry is pretty simple! By Oct. 31, send me a note—or post a comment at the bottom of this blog post OR on the Facebook announcement–sharing any of the following:
- If you were to start a business or other entrepreneurial venture, what would it be? What would you create with your entrepreneurial energy and ambition?
- What's the idea you can't get out of your head but you're unsure how (or scared) to pursue?
- How would your life look different if you were the architect of your job? What would you stop (or start) doing–in your work, and in your life?
As always, I look forward to hearing from you and cheering you on as you give yourself permission to take action in pursuit of your entrepreneurial dreams.
