Much of this year has been consumed with two big life transitions: becoming a full-time caregiver to my spouse, and pivoting from consulting to business coaching—with the latter hastened by the former.
Retiring my consulting practice
The public launch of this website in June marked the first time I claimed my new identity and livelihood as a coach. I've spent the four months since then closing out and handing-off a few remaining consulting commitments, piloting a group coaching circle for women entrepreneurs, and testing various coaching offers to further hone my craft. Coaching has been woven into much of my past work, but learning to lead with questions rather than solutions, and create space for clients' self-development and discovery is a big shift—and one I'm heartily enjoying.
Hello Seven coach certification
As the year comes to a close, I'm also wrapping up my Hello Seven coach certification. That's right! After six months of weekly coaching circles, self-study, and real-time learning, I'm on the road to graduation as a member of the inaugural cohort of Hello Seven Certified Coaches.
Last month I completed my certification exam and began my practice coaching hours which I'll complete next week. The last step is to complete a final project inspired by the theme: “Ready For More” (<– and I am!), so that I can walk the stage at graduation in January in Puerto Rico and proudly integrate the Hello Seven growth scale framework and business coaching tools into my existing coaching practice.
My final project
The idea I've been noodling with for weeks is hosting a virtual gathering on Nov. 24, a.k.a. Black Friday, that offers a meaningful alternative to the frenetic shopping and consumer experience that next weekend is typically known for. When I was reminded that the next day, Nov. 25, is Small Business Saturday, that sealed the deal for me despite the short lead time from today's announcement.
If you are (or know) a female-identifying business owner or aspiring entrepreneur, please consider joining me! You'll be supporting my final step to becoming a certified Hello Seven coach while gifting yourself with a bit of time and space to formulate–or refine–your vision of prosperity, and commit to taking action to bring that vision to life. In other words, let me help you get unstuck! Stop thinking, agonizing, and contemplating and take an empowering step TOWARDS embodying that vision. Give yourself permission to embrace your ambition and LIVE the life of your dreams.
